Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a big rebuilding job on his hands at the Emirates.

The Gunners won the FA Cup in 2019/20 but finished in eighth place in the Premier League, 43 points off champions Liverpool.

They are expected to do plenty of business this summer, with players coming in and out of the Emirates.

Arsenal have reportedly won the race to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

A number of clubs were said to be chasing the 22-year-old who has been touted as one of the best prospects in Europe.

The Daily Mail report that the Gunners have beaten Manchester United, Everton and Napoli in the race to sign Gabriel.

They are said to have agreed a £22million deal for Gabriel, who impressed with Lille in the shortened Ligue 1 season.Arsenal move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey hinges on the club selling some of their current players.

Sky Sports report the Gunners are still actively pursuing Partey but need to drum up funds to land him.

Matteo Guendouzi and Alexandre Lacazette remain the most lucrative options for sales.

Arsenal are reportedly drawing up the formal paperwork for Aubameyang’s new deal.

According to the Daily Mail, the 31-year-old Gunners captain has verbally agreed to sign a new three-year deal worth £250,000-per-week.

The report adds that the finishing touches on the striker’s contract are being prepared by Arsenal chiefs ahead of his return to pre-season training.

Aubameyang is still on holiday which is also holding up the confirmation as Arsenal want to film an elaborate announcement video.Ex-Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has slammed the criticism faced by his former Germany teammate Mesut Ozil.

He told the Athletic: “He's good enough (to be their main man) with support from the coach and the team, but something has happened with the club, you can feel that.

“Is he in a disagreement with the club? When I talk to him, we don't want to talk to him about that kind of stuff.

“It's his situation, him and his agent have to deal with that.

“He's a good character — he's not an a******. He doesn't do interviews where he speaks badly of his team-mates or of Arsenal and it's a shame we have this situation because everyone is losing.

The Times claim the Gunners have agreed personal terms with the Brazilian.

And the two clubs are now making progress in discussions over the fee with Lille believed to be around £27million.

According to The Athletic, the 20-year-old central defender will join the Gunners after his release by Spurs last month.

Dinzeyi was capped by England at Under-18 level but never made a first-team appearance for Jose Mourinho's side.

His signing is said to be part of a recruitment drive by Arsenal to add promising 'development players' to their ranks.

Tim Akinola, a 19-year-old midfielder, has also recently joined the club after being released by Huddersfield.

Aubameyang's previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season, and tying him to an extension has been Mikel Arteta's priority since the end of last season.

Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes also looks to be closing in on a move to the club.

The 22-year-old centre-back – valued at around €30m (£27m) – is said to favour a switch to the Gunners over Everton and Napoli.

And his father, Marcelo, has fuelled speculation he is Arsenal-bound by liking an Instagram post which suggested an agreement has been reached with the north Londoners over a deal for Gabriel.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Real Madrid over Dani Ceballos.

Mikel Arteta wants to secure another loan deal for the midfielder, with Ceballos believed to be keen to stay.

And finally, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be in line for a return to management.

It has been claimed that the 70-year-old Frenchman has approached the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) about the possibility of succeeding Barcelona-bound Ronald Koeman as Netherlands manager.

Akinola struggled to break into the Terriers' senior team last season and even spent time at non-league outfit Brighouse Town F.C.

However, the Athletic reports that Gunners transfer chiefs Per Mertesacker and Lee Herron decided Akinola was worth a punt without requesting a trial.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has discussed the future of Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette amid rumours Juventus are keen on him.

He told Sky Sports: “Lacazette is one of the targets of Juventus as a new forward.

“They need some new strikers, they have to sort the Higuain contract situation, but Lacazette is one of the names.

“Milik, Napoli forward, is another target, Zapata at Atalanta too, Morata, and Jimenez from Wolves.

“They have a very big list – but Lacazette is one of them.

“Juventus do not have a lot of money to spend in this market, so we will see what kind of player they will try to sign.”James Rodriguez has opened the door to a move to the Premier League.

ESPN's Senior Football Writer, James Olley, has said the striker is one of the only ‘saleable assets’ in the Gunners team as Mikel Arteta looks to raise funds which he can reinvest in his squad.

“I think the club would be open to listening to offers for Lacazette,” he said.

“He’s got two years left on his contract, he’s not been happy there and he was particularly unhappy under Unai Emery.

“I thought after the restart there were signs of life in him again; he was coming deeper to be more involved, he was really helping to link the play well ,and I thought he played well in the FA Cup semi-final and final.

“But he’s 29 and you get into a stage where either you re-sign him or you sell him now while he’s got some negotiation power.

“It would raise some funds; they could get £30m, maybe a little more, for him.

“And Arteta rates Eddie Nketiah very highly; he brought him back from his loan at Leeds and straight into the team, and he was playing ahead of Lacazette at times.

“Personally, I would keep Lacazette for another year, but money is tight for Arsenal and they haven’t got many saleable assets, really, if you look at their squad – Lacazette is one of them.”
